Embodying the Paramis (perfections) online retreat

No events to show

Description

In Early Buddhism, ten paramis are described: generosity, virtue, renunciation, wisdom, energy, patience, truthfulness, determination, friendliness, and equanimity. On this retreat we’ll explore the cultivation of these qualities in our everyday lives and consider how they can be expressed in our formal meditation practice. There will be reflections on how we can see the paramis as fruits of our practice, and also as qualities to be intentionally developed.

This online retreat offers an opportunity to bring intensive practice into our home environment. The paramis will provide a framework for responding to the challenges that arise as we practice at home. There will be dharma talks, meditation instructions, guided practices, as well as an opportunity to meet in small groups. There will also be short periods of gentle mindful movements, which can be adapted.

You can watch a brief introduction to the theme and format of the retreat in a video with Jake Dartington here.
